As you can see, we have renovated the site to cater more to the needs of Forest Friends rather than internet-related activities. Some of these updates include...

New site title

Giverny is the location of Monet's Garden. 

Our motto, dans le jardin, literally means "in the garden" in French.

Other than that, a Forest Friends Spring 2011 schedule has been posted in the forums. Please view it as soon as possible.

Spoka Mascot

Easte and I have created a mascot for Spoka club. We haven't decided on a name yet, though. (name) has a different getup for each season. Picture references of her will be posted up soon.

Club Logo

Our new and sparkly club logo is a ginkgo leaf.

Some fun facts about Ginkgo biloba...

• They are a nice shade of grass in the spring, and they turn a beautiful golden colour in the autumn.
• Ginkgo biloba is an endangered species.
• Strangely enough, there is a ginkgo tree in Easte's backyard.

New club name

We're deciding between Snoopish Club, Scantron Club, Acorn Club, and Spöka Club.

New nicknames

Maria is now Easte. (pronounced like east)

Mogu is now Milou. (pronounced Mee-low)

New manga-based story plot

Milou and Easte have agreed to base their club's plot on the manga, Yotsuba&!, and the anime, K-ON!. K-ON!-like activities are involved during school buddies and homework buddies, while Yotsuba&!-like activities are involved during creek, yotsuba, and daytime buddies. Roleplay is extremely minimal.

Creek buddies: In creek buddies, we play at the creek near Sharon's house. The things we do in this activity include exploring, catching wildlife and bugs, and recycling. Creek buddies ONLY takes place in the creek or duck lake. Main season(s): Fall, Spring, Summer

Yotsuba buddies: In yotsuba buddies, we act like Yotsuba and play our hearts out. The things we do are collecting stuff, planting things, catching bugs and snails OUTSIDE of the creek, going to the playground and dufief, playing in the snow, sledding, and exploring. Main season(s): Summer, Fall, Spring, Winter (All)

Daytime buddies: Daytime buddies does not refer to school. Instead, it refers to when we go to special places for a purpose. Daytime buddies includes whole-day activities such as going to the fair, going to a movie, painting stuff at the studio, etc. Main season(s): Summer, Fall

Homework buddies: Everyday afterschool, we go to Milou's house to do homework. Main season(s): Fall, Winter, Spring

School buddies: School buddies takes place during the schoolday. Hopefully, Milou and Easte will have many classes together.

After our encounter with the common snapping turtle, me and maria decided to get a cool pet that we would "share" for the club. We wanted to get either a Pacman frog, baby turtle, or Roborovski dwarf hamster. In the end, we settled for the turtle.

Red ear slider

We're planning to decorate my current fish tank with stones from the creek and maybe get some more easy-going, tropical fish. I already have turtle food that hopefully hasn't expired. We might buy a baby red slider (for 9.95$ + shipping) from Turtlesale.com, despite its bad reviews, horrible comments, and stuff. We're also going to get (maybe) a cool lily-pad shaped basking dock from Petsmart. Here is the link.

Today, me and maria went to the creek afterschool.

We found a giant turtle hiding in shallow water under a thorn brush, almost 1.5 feet long. It had claws, a long tail, and a smooth shell. It weighed a ton and was really hard to push. The turtle also tried to bite us. In the end, we left it alone.

Later, using the beautiful Wikipedia, we found out that it was an adult Common Snapping turtle.

It looked like that, but bigger.
